First sem Engineering Graphics question Paper

1. (A) A circle of 50 mm diameter rolls on a horizontal line for of a revolution clockwise.
Draw the path traced by a point P on the circumeference of the circle. Also draw a tangent and normal at any point on the curve.

2(a) A straight line ST has its end S,10 mm infront of the VP and nearer to it. The mid point m of the line is 50 mm infront of the VP and 40 mm above HP. The front and top view measure on mm and 120 mm respectively.
Draw the projections of the line. Also find its true length and true inclinations with the HP and the VP.

OR
(b) A regular pentagon of 30 mm side, is resting on one of its edges on HP which is inclined at 45o to VP.
Its surface is inclined at 30 o to HP. Draw its projections.

3. (a) Draw the projections of a cylinder of diameter 40 mm and axis 70 mm long when it rests on the VP on one of its base points.
The axis of the cylinder is parallel to HP and inclined at 30 o to VP.

OR
(b) A hexagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and axis length 60mm is reting on VP on one of its base edges with the face containing the
resting edge perependicular to both HP and VP. Draw its projections.

4. (a) A cone of base diameter 60 mm and axis 70 mm is resting on HP on its base. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and parallel
to a contour generator and is 10 mm away from it. Draw the front view, sectional top view and the true shape of the section

OR
(b) A cone of base diameter 60 mm and axis 70 mm is resting on HP on its base. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and parallel
to a contour generator and is 10 mm away from it. Draw the front view, sectional top view and the true shape of the section

5.(a) An object consists of a hemispherical vessel of 80 mm diameter which is placed centrally over a cylinder of 50 mm diameter and height of 60 mm. The cylinder in turn is placed centrally over a square prism of 60mm base side and 20 mm height. Draw the isometric projection of the object.

OR
(b) Draw the perspective view of a square prism of edge of base 40 mm and length 60 mm lying on a rectangular face on the ground, with a corner on PP and the bases equally inclined to PP. The station point is 60 mm in front of PP and 80 mm above GL and lies in a central plane,
which is passing through the centre of the prism.
